Lukas Marthinus Meyer, (born 11 March 1977), is the MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal.
Academic History:
His academic accolades include, among others, degrees from the North-West University in Classical Languages, Bachelor of Art in Social Work and a master’s in theology.
Political Career:
Meyer has served as DA Councillor in eThekwini in 2011, later becoming a KZN Provincial Legislature member from 2019 till currently. Some highlights of his political career within the DA include him being Constituency Chairperson, Constituency Head and being elected First KZN Deputy Chairperson in 2022.
Hobbies and Leisure:
If given a moment of downtime MEC Meyer will use it to read, walking his dogs along the beach. He also has an eye for photography while also being a coffee connoisseur. Add rusks to that coffee and you have earned yourself a new trustworthy best friend.
